Terms

Using iOcean

Draft. These terms have not been reviewed yet. The operator's legal name, governing law and contact email are still to be filled in.

The service

iOcean is a simulator of real ocean places, run by [operator name]. It is offered as a beta: features change, and the service may be unavailable at times.

Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account and your organisation's. New accounts may need approval before they can run dives, and each organisation has a limit on how many it can run.

What you upload

What you upload stays yours. You give us permission to store it and run it so that the service works for you. Upload only data you have the right to use.

What you must not do

Do not try to reach other organisations' data, break or overload the service, or use it to break the law.

Results

A simulated dive is a rehearsal, not a guarantee of what will happen at sea. Places are built from public and measured data with known errors, which are published with each place. Check results before you rely on them for anything at sea.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from using it.

Ending

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of [jurisdiction]. Questions go to [contact email].
